Danielle Szajer

Dr. Danielle Szajer grew up in Catskill, NY on a family alpaca farm, surrounded by a menagerie of animals including: a Newfoundland, a litter of nine Lhasa Apsos, koi fish, and of course, plenty of cats. Her lifelong love for animals led her to earn her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University at Albany, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Long Island University, where she graduated cum laude in 2024.

Her dedication to animal welfare goes far beyond the classroom. Dr. Szajer has volunteered at horse rescues, humane societies, and TNR clinics. She continues this passion on annual veterinary service trips to Honduras.

Now happily settled in Connecticut with her four cats and beloved Lhasa Apso, Dr. Szajer is excited to be part of a community that shares her love for animals.

When she’s not caring for furry patients, you might find her on the slopes, scuba diving, or even flying a plane which are all skills inspired by childhood flying lessons with her mom!
