Harold, Veterinary Technician
After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics from Amazonia University in Caquetá, Colombia, Harold pursued a one-year internship with the Cattle Ranchers Association of Huila State. His passion for large animal care led him to take on a leadership role in the organization’s commercial and farmer training departments, where he worked for six years.
To further specialize in animal care, Dr. Mazo pursued a degree in Animal Production at the University of Environmental and Applied Sciences. In 2017, he moved to the United States and dedicated two years to studying English as a second language at Hunter College in New York City.
Driven by his lifelong passion for animal care—both large and small—Harold joined Aspetuck Animal Hospital in 2019 as a veterinary assistant and later transitioned into a technician role. Over the years, he has worked diligently toward meeting the requirements to become a fully licensed veterinarian through the AVMA.
In his free time, Harold enjoys spending quality time with his wife and their two beloved cats, Shakira and Tim. He also loves reading, hiking, and swimming.
